A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my A.A. in Theatre Arts at College of Central Florida in Ocala, Florida. I then moved to Lakeland and earned my B.A. in Theatre Performance at Florida Southern College in Lakeland, Florida. Last summer I was an assistant teacher for the summer camp at the Civic Theatre in Ocala, Florida.
I teach the basic concepts of acting through Stanislavski and Chekhov. I focus on character development as well as scene analysis. When analyzing a play or story, I focus on the basic concepts such as inciting incidents, major dramatic question, climax, the point of attack, resolution, the theme, and characters. I work with the student so he/she can find these elements and talk about them and expound on them. I work as fast or as slow as the student needs.

I earned my BA in 1989 in Texas. I moved to Florida in 1990 and realized I wanted to be a teacher. My local community college, however, did not offer any courses to help my earn a teaching certification. Then I read an article in my local newspaper three years ago. I enrolled in the Teacher Preparation Institute at the same community college and am now certified to teach. I held an in class room teaching position last year from 10/2008 - 6/2009. The Lake County School District has undergone many changes and unfortunately let go of all 1-3 year teachers. I was one of those teachers. I miss working with children.
