I have tutored in the Public Schools for many years while my children were young. As a young teen I even graded papers for teachers who were not associated with my school district. I enjoy teaching and get great satisfaction from the success when a student gets it! I home schooled my middle child when she became too ill to attend school on a regular basis. My method for her taught her to be very responsible. Upon graduation she had better self confidence and had a 4.0 in college and successfully completed her degree. I expect that after her child is older she will return to further her education.
What is appropriate for the student is my style. If the student needs much one on one to learn, that's okay. I was an elementary education major for 2.5 years before following my specific passion to writing and literature in my Junior year to finish up school. As a college graduate with a degree in Journalsim, I spent many years writing for both print and news radio. I have excellent writing and grammar skills. I have taught Business Writing courses to groups of employees from many nationalities who need to understand the English grammar rules and proper sentence structure, etc. Most were not native English speakers. I also volunteered in Schwarzkopf elementary school helping children with learning disabilities learn to read.
