A Little Bit About Me...

I have been teaching and tutoring people in computer usage for over 20 years now. I also used to teach computer programming in the mid 80's. I have a good understanding of mathematics and physics.
This is important stuff to learn, so I like to give an overview with specific examples on how this will apply in their everyday life. Then we go over the basics. My goal is to get the student to have a strong understanding of the material.

A Little Bit About Me...

In college prepatory high school, I was on the Honors Math track which gave me intense training in high school and college mathematics as well as Upper level science such as Physics. In college, I earned a Bachelor's degree in English literature and a minor in Hawaiian Studies. While earning a BA, I completed 60 credits of prerequisite courses in Elementary Mathematics, English, Physical Eduction, and teaching techniques. While in college, I completed many research papers in several different areas of study. I have extensive grammatical skills due to the writing and grammar courses included in my area of education. For 9 years I have tutored both elementary and high school students in English, mathematics, and science.

In 2003 I traveled to India where I began work in a village in the South teaching English and Sociology to 4-11th graders. The experience was incredibly rewarding and was a wonderful vision into the complexities of education and culture. Due to this multi cultural experience I feel that I have a great skill in reaching students with multi ethnic backgrounds, and understand the discrepencies between written and spoken language.
I feel that in teaching my goal is to effectively reach all children. Individual care and attention are the most effective ways which I feel a child can be persuaded to learn. I take pride in being patient and think that every child has brilliance to show, they just show their skills at different and varying degrees.

I have earned two bachelor degrees which has given me the chance to motivate other youths and kids to seek the world and don't let it end with High school. There is more to life. Granting that Education is the key to success and without education there will be no sense of direction.
