My comments on tutoring Elementary Vocabulary : I hold a Master's degree in Special Education and am experienced as a K-5 special education teacher in all areas of language arts and math. I work with students with other health impairments, Autism Spectrum Disorder, and specific learning disabilities including dyslexia, dysgraphia, and dyscalculia. I use a multisensory approach to learning and strive to make new vocabulary meaningful. I started a vocabulary parade in my school to raise awareness of the need for explicit vocabulary instruction.

Summer Reading/English Tutor

I tutored two boys ages 6 and 9 in the areas of reading and spelling. I have been tutoring them on and off during the school year for the past 2 years. I also teach English classes once a week during the school year at the Immigration Center of America (ICA) in Farmville, VA during the school year. I teach basic English and grammar to adults who are non-native English speakers.
