As a Humboldt State University Student I was buried in English for Eight hours a day, five full years. My emphasis was in YOUNG ADULT LITERATURE, and I have read and reread all the books in the California State High School Curriculum multiple times. I have worked as a tutor for Junior High School children, College English students of all ages, and taught special education at Arcata High School to small groups of special needs kids, who want to learn/read/understand English better. I have a love for literature and a natural ability to unravel books into bite sized, easily digestible chunks. I can explain it simply, using "apples and oranges." I have the natural ability to relate to kids of all ages. I was a waterpolo coach for five years, and a volunteer mentor for the Blue Ox School in Eureka.
