It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material. I have always been intrigued by mathematics especially it’s connection and explanations for various fields of science. By teaching my students the foundations of math I have grown to enjoy and appreciate it even more. I look forward to extending my skills I gained in completing my Masters Degree in Classroom Technology into my 7th and 9th grade classes at Boyertown Junior High West where I have been teaching for three years. My teaching style is one in which I find ways to relate content to the students' everyday lives. I like to balance textbook knowledge with practical applications and cultural relevance. I also am a firm believer in planning lessons that require higher order thinking skills yet do not become overwhelming.
