It's imperative to listen and understand a students challenges. Reviewing their previous work and giving a current test is a good indicator of the situation. I believe in practice and examples as the clearest path to success. I don't hand deliver answers and I make the process towards answers engaging. I make sure the time and place are conducive to active and non-distractive learning. I relay the importance and relevance of the material. I love to share my knowledge and share my skills with others in a way to help them learn and grow. The way that I do this is by: 1) evaluate the child's skills, 2) acknowledge the child's skills and build his/her confidence as a stepping stone for future learning, 3) work to add to the current skills by adding to them.
