Sociology is one of my top subjects! I have served as a tutor for introduction to sociology, social statistics, social theory, and a range of specified topics including but not limited to race/ethnic relations, marriage and family, gender/sexuality,urban sociology, wealth/power/inequality, and aging. I believe learning is about confidence. I have seen numerous students doing poorly in courses because they were convinced that they were not capable of learning the subject matter. Small successes help to build confidence in order to move on to the subsequent challenges. I believe in starting with the basics, and making sure that the students truly grasps the subject matter before moving to more difficult concepts. Often, it takes several different approaches before a student is able to understand the concept.
