A Little Bit About Me...

I have wanted to be a teacher all my life. I love working with children and teaching. I believe that children are the future and should be given the opportunity to do well and succeed in school. I like to do my best to teach students how to do something and then let them discover and practice how to do it for themselves on their own. I feel that providing good instruction and then being there to assist when needed is the best way for students to learn. I also understand that all students learn differently, so I would include the student in determining what strategies work best for him or her.

I love helping children see the beauty in the world we live. That can be through solving a math problem that they struggled with or helping them learn from their mistakes. During my study towards at BS in Chemistry I published a paper with a professor doing electrochemical research. Because all students learn differently, it is important for me as a teacher to get to know each student to find out what fits their needs the best. As an active member of my community, in the form of pageantry, volunteering, and leadership, I have always enjoyed instructing others.
