I believe that activities for my classes should be student centered, authentic and focused on individual learning styles. I attempt to create an accepting environment and choose activities that connect learning to something my students know or value. I evaluate the progress of my students with varied types of ongoing positive evaluation and I integrate technology into class activities. I enjoy an active, energetic classroom much more than a sedate, quiet setting.
My professional experience has been divided almost equally between teaching and administrative jobs. Children are so important and shouldn't be overlooked or neglected. I have a heart for children, and that heart has grown larger now having three of my own. I believed we have to cultivate their minds with positive influences and make learning fun and interactive. I am understanding and patient;I also know that (from the experience with my oldest child) sometimes it takes a little one on one, teacher to student for them to grasp rules or principles.I enjoy and love tutoring, and it gives me great joy to see children and young adults succeed.
