I have been a working graphic designer for most of my life after graduation from Ohio State. After 12 years of design I was asked to participate in an art and education program at Chicago Public Schools Autism Program. I was hired on the spot and then continued with education by obtaining a masters degree in special education in Tempe Arizona. In Arizona I was assigned as an inclusion teacher for 9, 10 11th grade English. I had to accommodate diverse learners and plan instruction. I hold a valid Arizona Cross Catagorical Special Education Certificate that expires August 2013 I can identify students problems in learning and can accommodate and modify curriculum so diverse learning can understand grade level state standards. I have earned my Bachelor's degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with an emphasis in Elementary Education. I have experience working with learners of all ages. My earliest classroom experiences while studying at Kent State were with Kindergarten and 1st Grade classes, and I have substituted in classrooms all the way up through high school. I have enjoyed teaching tennis classes and do so mainly by explanation and examples. I show an example of the process completely through and then break down the process into parts, showing each part in slow motion and then once the pieces are grasped by the student, blend them back into one smooth motion.
