My style tends to range based on who I am trying to teach, and I suppose is most accurately labeled as adaptive. I understand that different people learn things in different ways, and so I try to accommodate that with my teaching. For instance if I found that a student learns better visually then I would attempt to use visual cues and examples in lesson plans to make the material as easy to understand as possible. I also believe in keeping a very loose and pleasant atmosphere, and making sure that everyone feels comfortable and safe, which I believe also assists in the learning process.

I love working with Middle School and High School students. I believe all students can learn Math, no matter how much difficulty they've had in the past. I first assess where they are at and where their particular difficulty is. Usually the difficulty has to do with basics that they forgot or never understood in the first place. I work on this first before moving on to more difficult concepts. I have had much success with this approach. I always try to make the students feel that they CAN do it, no matter what.
After I graduated from UM I interned to become an Architect but didn't like it as much as the study of it. The subject that students need the most help with is math. I have noticed the differences in difficulty when trying grasp mathematical concepts and have found ways to somewhat cater to their specific trouble areas. It is very important to give lots of examples and practice problems. I think it is most important that I make the student feel comfortable, that I am creative in my teaching methods, and that I ultimately teach the material to reach a full understanding.
