I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from the University of Missouri in 1993. Since graduation, I have acquired 15 years of experience through classoom teaching, tutoring and educational coaching. Most of my classroom experience was spent teaching 5th grade. My first major mentoring/teaching experience occurred in college when I began leading study groups and eventually organizing tutoring sessions with a number of my fellow English, Calculus, and Physics students. I then obtained a position as a youth counselor with the YMCA and quickly moved up to Site Coordinator where I was in charge of my own after school care group, including being in charge of organizing activities and managing youth counselors. Most recently I underwent PADI Divemaster training where I had real world experience teaching and assisting PADI Open Water students with classroom, confined water, and open water training.
