Speaking is one of my top subjects! I consider myself a great public speaker. I recently passed Ball State Universtity's communications and public speaking course with an A and could help anyone do the same!

I am in my third year at Ball State University. I recently changed my major from Biology to Accounting; therefore, I have lots of knowledge in many different areas - some that aren't listed on my profile. I am experienced in categories ranging from Biology to Accounting to baking. I won several Grand Champion awards in Indiana's Madison County 4-H program for Baking and Woodworking while I have A's in Chemistry, Accounting, Biology, Spanish, Calculus, and many many other subjects from Ball State University. I like to teach as if I am one friend talking to another. I find that this is the most relaxed way to encourage learning. A Little Bit About Me...

As an undergraduate, I attended Purdue University and worked as a teaching assistant where I ran my own lab, instructing students for one of their core management courses. In my junior year, I was asked to apply to an invitation-only program for an an accelerated MBA program only for exceptional students. I am now entering my final year of this program and will graduate in 2011 with a BS in Business Management and a Masters degree in Business Administration. The graduate program is team focused and emphasizes working with and teaching diverse groups of people.
I am a strong believer in teaching through examples and letting students try to apply the knowledge I have taught them at various smaller stages, then apply it to the bigger picture. I love working with kids, and I think that with patience, understanding, and time, all students are capable of reaching their potential.

My teaching style is very casual. I enjoy building a strong relationship with the people I teach to allow them to be comfortable and not feel uneasy to ask questions if they do not understand something. I have been teaching children for almost ten years through volunteering. I am enjoy children and their ability to learn and grasp new concepts at such a quick pace.

A Little Bit About Me...

I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Accounting with a minor in Economics and plan to continue my education into a Masters of Science in Accountancy program. During my tenure as a student, I had the opportunity to work four years in the college's Academic Resource Center as a writing consultant where I assisted students to improve their writing ability and to understand that writing should be look at the process rather than attempt to "correct" each paper. My teaching style is to cover required material in an understandable-informal manner. I expect students to ask questions until they are comfortable with the material. I also expect students to be attentive and well behaved in the classroom setting, leaving time for informal discussion when students and the teacher may come to know one another. I prefer to interact with students rather than simply lecture. I try to reduce problems or topics into basic components and address each in turn in an effort to demonstrate critical steps in a process which would complete the task or solve the problem successfully. My experience allows me to create realistic methodologies which allow the students to march toward a completion without being intimidated by the complexity of a problem or challenge.
