My comments on tutoring Creative Writing : For the past 5 years I have worked with 4th grade students in school classrooms as well as tutored for FCAT Writes test. I have many tips and techniques to use when tutoring a student in writing.

I absolutely love teaching and working with children. Children learn in unique and individual ways and sometimes struggle in school work because they learn at a different pace than the class as a whole. Individual and small group instruction greatly benefits these children in many ways. They have a chance to ask questions, to deal with specific areas of difficulty and to have better self-esteem when they discover they can learn and master the challenges of reading, writing, and math. 15 years experience in a broad variety of subjects!

I have been tutoring for over 15 years both in students homes or at public locations such as coffee shops or the public library. My education and experience are broad. I was educated at "Ivy League" level schools and purposefully educated myself in a large variety of the humanities, which in essence all tie together. I am currently a college sophomore at Florida Institute of Technology studying Computer Engineering so I know the problems a high school or school or college student would face in studies. Creative Writing is one of my top subjects! I graduated from Florida State University with a major in Literature and a minor in Philosophy.

My tutoring experience is limited to a college classroom setting. I participated in the standard classroom roundtables that explored what made one another stories work and what didn't, while offering constructed ways to repair or expand on the themes the authors were exploring. Even outside of the classroom, I helped fellow students find their own path to completing assignments in ways that allowed them to figure out how to do the required work on their own. The real draw I offer is my experience in studying literature, in analyzing the creativity of professional authors and figuring out how they constructed their masterpieces.
