My job at Trenholm occasionaly required me to tutor more than one person. I emplement many differnt teaching stragies depending on the students needs. A student may require implements to learn a lesseon, or may require visual attetion while other are audio learns. It is hard to say till you learn the student.
I started my tutoring experience in the math Lab at AUM when they stared up and continued until till I gratuated. I then started tutoring with the Learning center at AUM for several years. I then moved on to Trenholm where I have been tutoring there for about a year. You need help, Let me help! I have also done private tutoring also. You can call me at 4418268.

I like to have one on one tutoring sessions free from any distractions in order for the student to pay more attention. I try to find videos and tutorials that may better help demonstrate how to work problems on top of how I teach it myself.
I tutored college math for two years while I was attending community college. I normally helped athletes prepare for a test, help with online homework, and assess their knowledge by providing other problems for them to work out and check behind them. I also tutored man in the math section of the ASVAB back in the summer of 2012.

Algebra I is one of my top subjects! I have tutored Algebra 1 for over 1 year. I

I believe every student has their method of approaching a problem. From my past sessions with others, I became familiar with connecting with the students' needs and trying methods that they feel most comfortable with. Because I am so familiar with what parts of a subject usually give students the most trouble, I provide tips and reminders throughout my sessions which will help them fill in the gaps here and there. I like to take the most effective easy way through a problem and will teach students to be independent thinkers which will help them train in their future problem solving.

Slow and Steady
I have tutored children in mathematics from the ages 6-15. I was also asked by one of my professors to begin a tutoring session for a pre-calculus/trigonometry course that I was enrolled in. At that time I was scheduling tutor sessions with college students to obtain the proper study habits for polynomial expressions, quadratic equations , and exponential functions. My main focus was to make sure they not only memorized how to do that type of problem but actually learning the proper steps.

Volunteer with church youth, but no specific professional tutoring experience. I would help friends and people younger than me in high school. I may not be well experience but that means that your student and I will grow together. A great teacher is not only measured by what they can teach the children but what the children can teach them.

I have a passion for learning as well as sharing my knowledge with others. I obtained a BA in Mathematics and am currently working on MAT in Mathematics. While in college I was part of a tutoring/mentoring program and helped my peers with math. I also had an opportunity to prepare high school students for the Alabama Grad Exam during a summer session with the Upward Bound Program. I currently help children in my community with any problems they may face in mathematics.
Teaching has been a desire of mine since I taught math at a local high school for two years. I am a firm believer in giving accurate, detailed information and being prepared for any questions that someone may have. I don't expect everyone to learn at the same pace, and I make sure that I provide various methods to solving certain problems. I believe that anything is possible, even learning Math.

I began tutoring when I was a Jr. in high school. I tutored a variety of subjects for grades 5 through 8 during my last two years of high school. During my freshman year of college I tutored a classmate in English Composition I. More recently I tutored a college freshman in Algebra and some of my peers for continuing education credits in Algebra. I have a total of 3 years tutoring experience and an additional 2 years experience from home schooling my daughter for 2nd and 3rd grade.
I try to find out the learning style of the person I am teaching and use that as my primary teaching style. Some people learn better by hearing, some by reading or seeing and some by doing. I think focusing on the style that the person prefers to learn and then backing it up with the other styles to reinforce what they have learned is the best way for the student to retain the information. I think ... read more

A Little Bit About Me...

As a graduate student, I tutored minority engineering students in chemistry, physics, and math at California State University in Northridge, CA. I also privately tutored students at the same time. As a senior auditor and a senior project manager, I mentored and trained staff in accounting, IT, and project management methods and standards.
I enjoy teaching and have been successful in encouraging students to learn. One student I had was failing chemistry and with my help she obtained an A. By being patient and providing clear and detailed explanations and examples, I can effectively help a student meet their potential.
