A Little Bit About Me...

I have worked with children since 1991. My concentration during my undergraduate studies was neuroendocrinology. However, after attaining my B.A. in Psychology, I loved working with children so much that I decided to work in the mental health field, serving children and adolescents. During the last 3 years, I have been tutoring students in grades K-5 in language arts and math. For the last year and a half, I have tutored students who were suspected of having special needs. I believe that once a student can enjoy the process of learning they can begin to internalize the good study habits required for academic success. I use a constructivist teaching method and often use Socratic teaching as a means to have students thinking independently about their work.
