I have been a professional educator since 1986. I have taught Navajos, Hopis, Apaches, Mexicans, Arabs, and in two Multinational Schools in Saudi Arabia and to princesses in the Diplomatic Quarters of Riyadh. I have taught from k-12, been an adjunct professor for two campuses, taught special education, and human relations in alternative school settings. English as a Secondary Language, Business classes, human relationships and special education have been my areas of interest. In additional I have tutored a variety of students. A variety of methods are an important means to education as not all students experience the learning process in the same way. Much of my teaching style I learned while at Apple Computer in one on one computer teaching sessions. I tend to be a very enthusiastic and encouraging anyway, but Apple taught me an additional patience and a lead-learning-out teaching style that promotes self-discovery and avoids simply giving answers. Though it is geared towards adults, I have since found that adapting the patent and deliberate pace of LLO teaching to the learning level of younger children is effective and fun for both myself and the student. I have earned two bachelor degrees which has given me the chance to motivate other youths and kids to seek the world and don't let it end with High school. There is more to life. Granting that Education is the key to success and without education there will be no sense of direction. I love working with kids. I believe that the kids are our future and if we adults don't help them grow up to be leaders and make better choices in their lives we will not have any sense of direction.

I believe that once a student can enjoy the process of learning they can begin to internalize the good study habits required for academic success. I use a constructivist teaching method and often use Socratic teaching as a means to have students thinking independently about their work. I am also interested in learning how each student learns so as to get the best results. I believe I'm a natural teacher, enthusiastic, intelligent, and an unusual memory for detail. I enjoy creating interesting contexts for students to learn from, and the intuition to know when a student is making progress.
