I am currently a junior at Minnesota State University, Mankato working towards a BS in Zoology and Spanish. I have been taking Spanish classes since my first year of high school in 2006. I completed Spanish I-IV during high school, and took the AP Spanish IV. I have almost completed my Spanish major at MSU, and am hoping to apply my skills to any future job I apply for.

My comments on tutoring Spanish : I am native-fluent speaker. I have done presentations and speeches in Spanish. I had my whole principal studies in Mexico.

There are several ways to learn. My favorite and the one I work best is to observe. Mostly I understand the things when I see them working. When I teach, I always do an explanation first and then I put it on practice so the student can fully use this new skill.
I am from Mexico, so most of my experience in these three areas of knowledge. In my chess experience, I've been involved in this awesome game since I was 13. I've participated in many tournaments in my Hometown Matamoros. I represented several times my high school, my hometown, and once my state in a national tournament. I taught children how to play chess in my neighborhood as hobbies because all of my older brothers play chess, so I played with them during more than 3 years and many children got interested. When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know". All of these are useful tools, but in my opinion by far the most important is patience. Remaining patient when someone doesn't understand is the absolute most important thing. Too many children are willing to give up on a subject, all they need is someone who knows they can do it, and can show them how.
