Spanish is one of my top subjects! I have been studying Spanish in an academic setting since I was in Middle School (2005). Since that time, I entered High School and studied it for three years, including two years in an honor program. After that, I entered college at Winona State University and earned a four-year degree in the Spanish language. While I have not studied abroad, I earned grades nothing short of exceptional with continually positive remarks and recommendations from my professors in regards to my proficiency. In addition, I spent at least an hour twice a week outside of class conversing with natives from Argentina and Peru in Spanish. Other than that, I spend time watching movies and dramas, listening to music, and reading books in Spanish.

I am a passionate and outgoing individual. I love making connections with people and helping them learn in a way that's fun and interactive. I expect students to be focused on the material they are learning, but I will also find ways to make the learning experience relatable and enjoyable. One of the ways I plan to accomplish this is by sharing my experiences while abroad in Tokyo. Based on real-world situations, the students will be expected to practice speaking and writing in Japanese. My comments on tutoring Spanish : I am native-fluent speaker. I have done presentations and speeches in Spanish. I had my whole principal studies in Mexico.

There are several ways to learn. My favorite and the one I work best is to observe. Mostly I understand the things when I see them working. When I teach, I always do an explanation first and then I put it on practice so the student can fully use this new skill.
I am from Mexico, so most of my experience in these three areas of knowledge. In my chess experience, I've been involved in this awesome game since I was 13. I've participated in many tournaments in my Hometown Matamoros. I represented several times my high school, my hometown, and once my state in a national tournament. My experience as a teacher has been most in a foreign country teaching mathematics in several levels, since junior high School to senior high school. I also had taught Spanish in high levels. A Little Bit About Me...

During my undergraduate career, there were multiple influences that contributed to my passion for teaching. First, I tutored college students from Asia who were exchange students. This gave me the opportunity to apply what we learned in the classroom, and adapt to a culture that learns differently than Americans. Second, I tutored a high schooler in Spanish. I used this as a tool to see how a person can still learn when they are not interested in the subject. Third, I taught English last summer in Mexico. I was given a group of high school students, a book of lessons, and hardly any supplies. Resources were slim, but my creativity grew.

When considering my teaching style, it is difficult to explain a single process for teaching. When working with different people it is important to remain creative, inventive, and patient. Every person has different learning styles and it is important to recognize in that person what helps them understand more fully. Whether it is diagram and pictures, breaking a complex problem into many simple parts, comparing similar examples that are familiar to the person, or simply taking the time to make sure that the child feels comfortable saying "I don't know". All of these are useful tools, but in my opinion by far the most important is patience. Remaining patient when someone doesn't understand is the absolute most important thing.
