A Little Bit About Me...

My primary experience lies with Louis Stokes Alliances for Minority Participation (LSAMP) Program. This program was established to promote and nurture minorities interested in pursuing a career in the sciences and mathematics. I was involved in the program as a fellow. This position required me to mentor a group of younger scholar students. The position required me organize events (such as tours of science industries and resume building session), establish program outline for the school year, lead mentoring sessions, and facilitate study sessions.
I believe a successful instructor is the most important part of teaching; one who is knowledgeable, wise, and be able to effectively communicate the knowledge to the students. Although I have recently graduated with a degree in business, I am interested in pursuing a career involving people. My previous employment was a sales position that was very customer-oriented. I also have 3 years of experience helping children by teaching swimming lessons. Assisting my 15-year-old sister with her school work is also a regular activity.
I believe in a teaching style that reflects a student's learning style. Whether they learn best by hearing, seeing, or doing it is important to cater to the student. My teaching style works around this philosphy and tends to be a combination of all 3 styles.
