Elementary Study Skills is one of my top subjects! I believe that children should study in the same place and time each day. This will give them a good habit that will encourage learning. I know this works because I studied this way throughout my school years.

My teaching style is using all our senses. If you can touch, taste, see, feel, and hear what you are engaged in, you will retain it for a long time.
I have taught children for over 20 years, including my own two children and grandchildren. I love teaching and working with children and their parents. Children are our gifts,and true knowledge makes a great bow

I have volunteered over 80 hours combined from the summers of 2011-2012.I've worked with a diverse amount of students ages varying.Although I do mainly focusing on K-1 ,I am capable of helping any elementary student become successful and improve there selves in what ever it is that there struggling in. I am patient,because I know how it feels to have a disorder not being able to learn at the same pace.I have been in your child's shoes before so usually kids with disorders connect with me quicker then others .
Patients is my number 1 key all kids do not learn at the same pace.When I work with a child I learn there speed so that they don't feel pushed or rushed ,and I work (sometimes off duty) to figure out different exercisers to improve there speed and there school work performance.

My philosophy of discipline is simple: observe, take data and find the function of the behavior. When a student misbehaves in class there is an underlying reason. Every behavior has a function. The function can be to gain access to an item or person, to avoid doing the work or aggressive behaviors if they do not understand the assignment completely, medicine or personal affects (hungry, sleepy or thirsty). I also believe in “brain breaks”. My students take a break every hour to get up, walk around, listen to music and get the wiggles out. By doing this one simple trick, they are able to concentrate better and have an opportunity to get the wiggles out. I also have “my time versus your time”. I worked for 12 years as a Special Education teacher in the public school system, teaching students with ADD, learning disabilities, autism, Aspergers, emotional and behavior disorders, and mild intellectual disabilities in a resource room and inclusion setting. A Little Bit About Me...

I graduated high school in 2008. I then attended West Ga Tech., for over a year. I majored in technical communications and took numerous computer classes. I love computers and Math. Those are my two favorite subjects but I am pretty well rounded, there's not much I can't do. I'm very self motivated and enjoy helping people better themselves.
