Accounting is NOT difficult when it's taught correctly !

My teaching style is open and questioning. I expect you to question the things that I teach you, for that is how I believe you will learn the best and grasp the concept more quickly. I teach not purely "by the book" but in also using real-life examples and situations. Most students have the most problems with just getting through the basics. The dreaded Accounting I and Accounting II classes. It's the basic concepts that I will focus on at first.

After receiving a BS in Business Administration from a liberal arts college, I worked for several years in the business world. The majority of my work experience has been in the banking and finance industry. It was through these experiences that I realized my true passion for learning could be shared through training and teaching. The past two years I have been studying to earn my teaching certification. A Little Bit About Me...

I have had an extensive career in business. I have had a number of accounting/finance positions in the business world. My most successful position was with a chain of 30 Hallmark stores. I started as the accountant and eventually became the President of the company. I have had other positions as Controller and Accountants of other businesses.
I would be able to instruct children with the basics and also explain how these basic concepts are used and why they are important in a real environment. My goal would be to get my students excited about their future and impress upon them that they can achieve anything they desire with hard work.

I believe in a constructivist approach to education. Stusents come with prior knowledge of topics. My goal is to get those students to connect prior knowledge with new information. I also believe that there are mltiple ways that students learn. They can have multiple intelligences in several areas, such as artistic, kinesthetic, or visual and spatial.
