A Little Bit About Me...

When I was 12-13 years old, I started learning Spanish. I am now 22 years old and am pretty proficient in Spanish. Also, I tutor Business Law a little bit. I have taken a course at Suny Cobleskill along with Macroeconomics and Microeconomics. Writing and English is something that I am very good at. As a college graduate I found that my skills were better off served outside the classroom and could better be used in a one-on-one situation instead of 15 kids at once. I hold a BS in Communication with concentration on English. I have extensive experience with writing and editing as I have worked for various publications. During the past years I have tutored a number of children helping them to read. In addition I have spent countless hours teaching computers to various ages from 10-60 years of age. I have helped in teaching Microsoft Office applications as well as the internet. After graduating from Binghamton University, I worked for a short time as a bookkeeper. Then I worked for New York State for 25 years in the fields of auditing, internal auditing, and accounting. I performed a variety of duties while working as an accountant including supervising staff. As an internal auditor I the day-to- day operations of an internal audit unit. I have also been a self-employed professional income tax preparer of the past 23 years.
I enjoy helping people to achieve their potential and nothing makes me more happy than to see someone learn something and get a good grade or to do the task on their own without any help. While studying for my undergrad in economics I found a passion in helping others succeed as I was. I often held study sessions with groups ranging from 2- 10 people at least twice a week. When during these sessions if an individual felt lost, I would often meet with them at a later date to coach them separately. I have yet to receive a further degree in teaching but may be a path a may take. It is such a wonderful feeling to succeed at academics and I love to help others experience that.
