My comments on tutoring Reading : I have worked with students from Kindergarden to 5th grade in tutoring them in reading.

When I was 5 years old I learned sign Language, I had a classmate who was deaf and I fell in love with the language. I went to the University of Nebrasaka-Lincoln majored in Speech Pathology and took a few sign language classes. I started interpreting in 2009 in a small town in Kimball Nebraska. I worked with a high school student while I was there. After he graduated high school I then got the opportunity to work in Scottsbluff Nebraska in an elementary school. While I was there, my passion for working with elementary students really came out. While I was there, I worked with a couple different students who were in first grade, second grade, fourth grade and eight grade. I was very emerged in tutoring students. I have been a Human Resources Manager for past 10 years. A good portion of my job is involved with training. While there are differences in training/teaching adults versus young adults and children, the basics are still the same. I have volunteered in the past as religious educator for children in first, second and fourth grade. I also did some volunteer tutoring over 8 years ago in Mississippi as I was involved with the local literacy council.
I like to make teaching fun. I pride myself on my ability to add fun through puzzles, arts and crafts, etc. and teach all at the same time. It is so rewarding when a child you are working with accomplishes what they may have though to be the impossible. All children, as adults, are sponges that are wanting to absorb all that is around them. I feel that my previous experience in working with children is my resume.
