A Little Bit About Me...

I feel my style of teaching is one of being a facilitator. I choose to interact with the student by asking questions so enabling them to reach the answer through their own thinking processes. The excitement of seeing their confidence build as they realize they can figure out problems independently is the reward of being an educator. I believe my job is to guide and support the student.

While I draw much of my knowledge from my university education in physics and mathematics, the majority of my teaching experience is drawn from the world of corporate retail management. I have trained employees of all ages and backgrounds in both store operations and product facts. I possess good communication skills, both spoken and written, that have been sharpened through collaborative work in physics and individual work in sales.
Every person has a unique background and set of experiences that he or she brings to the learning experience. It is difficult, at best, for the student to correctly assess how his or her experiences affect the learning process. Thus, the burden is on me, the instructor, to determine how a student learns, and adjust my teaching methods to meet the student's needs.
