Great lessons made fun!

I use common phrases to start and then continue with common verbs and increase the vocabulary with common everyday words. I use my fun, outgoing personality to make sure that the lessons are not only fun but also stick in he mind for maximum retention of each lesson.
I lived in Brazil and taught English to Brazilians. I also taught Portuguese to Americans who were living in Brazil. Learning spanish in an untraditional fun way!

I bring my own material and focus on a lot of verbal activity. Students/parents may request what needs to be worked on more/less and also bring their own books and material to use. We use viedos, audio and ogher fun material to help learnng in a fun way!
I have been a spanish tutor on high School level for 2 years and I also tutored spanish for adults on and off for more than 2 years. My comments on tutoring Reading : English has been the subject I have taught for the last three years. As an ESL teacher, I not only have to theach all aspects of English, but I have to adapt my teaching methods to the lower understanding of my students. Since I also have to teach reading to my students, I must teach such things as letter and word recognition. I must make the printed word as understandable as the spoken word.

From 2002 through 2010 I served as an Adult leader for the BSA through which I taught subjects ranging from life skills (cooking, sewing, personal care, etc) to government (political structure, citizenship, etc.) to outdoor survival(fire making, edible plant recognition, swimming, etc.) Also, from 2004 through 2012, I served as a safety trainer and risk management trainer for two different employers. In January 2012, I decided to put my English Literature degree to use, so I began my studies to earn my TESOL certificate. My comments on tutoring Reading : I am a Reading Specialist at a local private school K-12.

I have been working as a teacher for three years now. I enjoy working in a private school setting (two years experience) because I can devote more time to lesson planning, after school, and creating individualized/small group curriculum as there are less students in the private school I teach at. I am the Reading Specialist and I love my job. I myself had to learn to cope with dyslexia and ADHD. I know what students are going through because I have experienced it first hand. Reading is one of my top subjects!

I am a recent college graduate working full time. I have quite a lot of tutoring experience assisting other college students pass rigorous business courses. I also have a five year old little brother who I have been tutoring in reading and writing since he turned three. He is already reading at 2nd grade level at five years old.
