I have also been a Substitute Teacher in the Fayette County School system from 2003-2008 in various grade levels (kindergarden to High School. As a member of a musical family, I grew up w/ a profound passion for creating & understanding music. My first instrument of choice was playing the drums, I started playing when I was 12 years old. Taking lessons from the famed Wilco drummer, Glen Kotche & getting involved with the school Jazz program were highlights from my high school days. I went on to attend the University of Tennessee graduating in 2001 with a bachelor of science degree, majoring in Horticulture Science with a minor in Business. Though I did not scholastically pursue a music degree, I continued playing & taking music lessons in college. During this time, I found my ‘voice’ on the guitar & it has been my primary instrument ever since.

A Little Bit About Me...

I am graduating from Rice University with a B.S. in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a B.A. in Asian Studies this year. I have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.67 while attaining leadership positions in three separate school organizations. One of the biggest achievements during my college career was planning a six week-long medical mission to Kenya where I taught HIV/AIDS education to rural communities and set up mobile clinics in remote locations. I have gained extensive experience as a tutor for elementary, middle, and high school children in math and science, among other subjects. During high school, I volunteered every week to tutor elementary school-aged refugee children from Rwanda, Uganda, Serbia, and a range of other countries.
