What I like about helping people learn more and do better in communicating and expressing themselves is that it gives me a chance to "give back" all that I know in a special way. I teach people how to do things through a method of "learning by doing" with practical (and many times personal experience) exercises. Writing and communicating is a craft that anyone can do if they understand how to "map out" their thoughts and ideas in an outline and then "build from there" filling in the gaps.

A Little Bit About Me...

Teaching children is a passion of mine. They soak in the knowledge like a sponge. I am patient, easy going, but also know the task at hand. I try to find the best way to teach that individual child. Every child learns in a different way. I seek to find that way. Since I learn best in a hands-on manner I try to teach that same way.
I was taught at a early age to be the best I possibly could. I was taught to do my best. That has stuck with me all the way through college. I have earned a BS degree in Communication which has given me a knowledge of how to write effectively. I took an editing course which focused on the fundamentals of writing along with correct editing skills. I believe anyone can teach a subject, having enough knowledge of a subject allows one to pass it on. However, I feel what many teachers do not do is teach students how to learn. It is in my belief that teaching students to learn enables them to think independently allowing them to become more creative rather than repetitive. So not only do I teach students the subject, I teach them how to learn and apply it to every other subject.
As a accomplished student, I realized I always had help along the help with achieving academic success. From teachers and counselors to my peers and older students. I began to help other with academics as early as the third grade, however I began to commit to tutoring in High School and continue it through-out college, in hopes to eventually becoming a teacher in the future.
