I am most comfortable teaching with prek-5th grade students, because that is my area of expertise. I love teaching these age groups because they are so impressionable and some of them still have that child like innocence that hasn't been stripped from them yet. As a teenager, I learned the importance of having role models, both in and out of the classroom. Some of my biggest influences are old teachers and coaches. After I graduated high school, I attended the University of Florida, where I majored in Telecommunications, and had an outside study in English. This led me to substitute in Marion County for a year. After one year of subbing, I decided I wanted to enrich the lives of adolescents full-time. I became a teacher at my former high school, Vanguard, where I stayed for two years. I taught twelfth grade English, and then turned to teaching Intensive Reading to sophomores.
