I hold a master's degree in language education and certification as a public school teacher in two states, New York and New Jersey. In the last three years I have taught and tutored German, English, English as a Second Language, and standardized test preparation (including SAT, ACT, GRE, and TOEFL) in a variety of settings, including a public high school, a private Saturday school for heritage speakers of German, a small music college/tutoring center, and at the large state university SUNY Stony Brook. A Little Bit About Me...

I have two daughters, two years apart, but only one grade apart. They both do very well academically and embrace the process of learning. At home we focus more on learning and how to search for answers than on simple memorization. I have found that this has given Emma and Claudia an advantage over their peers, as neither are "hung up" on what they remember, but focus on how to use what they've learned and to apply it as a tool in learning increasingly challenging and rewarding concepts.
