My comments on tutoring GED : Qualified in this subject by WyzAnt. I acted as a volunteer with Career Central, Spring Hill, FL assisting applicants preparing for GED examinations in 2012. I also assisted students in GED preparation with R.S.V.P. in Burlington VT.

For the greater part of my life I have been involved in various facets of education. I have taught elementary school in private and public settings, in both New York City and Florida. I taught high school English and Global Studies in New York city. I have worked as a tutor in general subjects for elementary students, as well as for Reading, Language, and Biology for high school anc dollege students. With a degree in Special Education and a Masters in Education I have learned about how children learn best. I have a Florida Teacher's License for teaching ESE (Exceptional Students Education), Spanish, Elementary Education, and other subjects. I taught in the Ocala public school system. I initially try to find what he/she is struggling with,and what strengths and weaknesses are present. I allow the person to ask questions in a fluid, spontaneous, "let's see as we tackle this together" manner. When something is not understood, I try to give analogies, examples that the person can relate to. I also may explain the subject matter in a more simplified, methodical fashion.
