Prior to homeschooling my six children, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Schriner's Burn Institute in Boston, and then at Darmouth College Medical School in Hanover, NH. My science and laboratory background from UVM was beneficial to my success in these labs. I have now spent to past 18 years homeschooling my children. The three oldest have graduated high school with complete NY state requirements. They have all tested in the 700's in Verbal SAT and high 600's for Math. My first career was as a Registered Professional Nurse (NYS licensure) for 25 years. During those years, I kept up my interest in various fields of math, such as Abstract Algebra, Differential equations, and topology. The summer after my 8th grade year was my first experience teaching. It was there that I facilitated the younger children's use of the computer facilities during a summer reading program. After that I tutored Math, Earth Science, Physics, and Philosophy to other undergrads at my college's Learning Center.
