In a world of specialization, I tend to break the mold by having rather wide academic interests. I earned a bachelors degree in Religion, then went on to earn an MA in Theology. In between this period I did a semester of Analytic Philosophy while attending Talbot School of Theology in La Mirada CA. The nature of my studies has forced me to focus on worldview. Prior to homeschooling my six children, I worked as a Research Assistant at the Schriner's Burn Institute in Boston, and then at Darmouth College Medical School in Hanover, NH. My science and laboratory background from UVM was beneficial to my success in these labs. I have now spent to past 18 years homeschooling my children. I encourage students to see the wonder and "mystery" (there really isn't any mystery) of Math, regardless of the level, in the real world. To that aid, I try to present real world problems at levels the student can understand. For lower level students, I investigate with them the development of the linear equations involved in setting up a relationship between two factors.
