Drafting is a Industial Arts subject. Students apply math skills to complete assignments. Math students can utilize practical uses to understand the theory of math. I will use many examples from my years of teaching to explain math. My tutoring background will also aid me in connecting the theory with the hands-on skills.
My industrial experience working as a design/drafter lead me to attend college at CSULB, graduating in 1974. I later worked 23 years as a teacher, incorporating math within the drafting curriculum. I was fortunute to teach many types of drafting. Each and every one of them had math applications from basic arithmetic to geometry built into the class. During the last 8 to 10 years since retiring I have also tutored at Sylvan, covering many topics for Elementary to High School. I completed a Masters Degree in Education in 1991 at CSULB as well.

I have earned two degrees, a bachelors degree in Business and Masters in Business and Information Technology which has provided me with outstanding experience and understanding in the math, reading comprehension areas. I have always excelled in science as well because the subject has always been a joy of learning for me. I have personally held afterschool science programs at the local recreation center for children in grades k-8.
