I am an electric engineering student at Tufts UNiversity, who graduated high school with a GPA of 4.2 and 11 AP classes.I have tutored mostly Math and physics and Chemistry to high school students, and all most all academic subjects to elementray school student. I love being creative and finding ways to help others learn. I am great with children, and believe that patience and encouragement can give them confidence to excel at anything they choose. While attending law school, I spent 2 full academic years tutoring first year law students. I tutored property and constitutional law. It was through tutoring that I was able to help several students improve their grades, both through emotional support and exceptional knowledge in the subjects. I enjoy learning new things and sharing that knowledge with others.
I believe that teaching through lecture and hands-on activities is the most effective. A student that is capable of "teaching" the teacher a lesson and explaining the subject in their own words will have a greater understanding of the subject. When I teach and tutor I explain to the student the topic in my words, and then continue to ask for feedback until the student is capable of explaining the lesson in their own words.

A Little Bit About Me...

I have always been passionate about business and economics. As a young adult, I read every book about the subject that I could get my hands on! In college, I pursued a BS degree in Finance with a minor in Economics. I was the top student in my department and won a scholarship from Financial Executives International. I graduated with honors in 2004. Since then I have enjoyed a number of full time finance related roles including that of Senior Financial Analyst and most recently: small business owner. I have a unique approach to teaching because my background is both analytical (numbers and science) and imaginative (theater and literature). While classroom training is my forte, I also have a solid background in teaching online. This combination is particularly useful since no two children learn in the same way. I do not believe any student is dumb. If he or she has struggled picking up a concept, it is more likely because the right method of teaching has not yet been explored. I also believe educational advancement needs to be determined objectively by comparing scores from start to finish and subjectively by measuring a student's own feelings about his or her progress.
