I recently relocated to the Huntersville area. I recently graduated from UNCW with a degreee in Psychology with a focus on children. Since middle school, working with children has been my passion. I realized my dream after some of my cousins came over to America from the war torn country of Liberia and were having a very hard time adjusting. I was accepted to UNC Chapel Hill's Master's Program for Rehabilitation but declined after fearing it would take me down the path of working with the elderly instead of working with children. I have very extensive experience working with children at camps, researching at UNCW, tutoring foster children, and special needs with Lindley Habilitation services in Wilmington (mainly working with a client having Hunter's syndrome who was learning sign language, etc). I have been a dance teacher in both a private SACS accredited school and public school for a total of 20 years. I have taught all ages, as I am certified K-12. In my tenure as an electives teacher, I have been required to teach content skills in both math and reading. Most recently, I was a lead teacher for a preschool where I prepared students to enter kindergarten. I have excellent written and verbal skills, which along with my passion for teaching combine to make me a great tutor! I have had great success working with ADD and ADHD students.

As a substitute teacher and an aspiring full-time teacher I've been on a journey to obtain my Master's in Education. I have earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. While completing my undergraduate studies I was a tutor for the Omega C.H.A.M.P.S program, tutoring in mathematics. Upon graduation I assumed a position as an academic assistant in the Trio Upward Bound project. I have experience with students of all ages.

I am dedicated to enthusiastic and dynamic teaching as a means of creating and nurturing a lifelong love of learning for students of all ages. I will use a wide variety of teaching aids and implementation strategies to engage and enlighten students in active learning. As an honors graduate from the University of South Florida, I grew up with a strong foundation in education. I spent my senior year of high school (when most people are occupied by senior year activities and proms) in college doing the Early Admissions Program. I graduated early from both high school and college with honors. During my college career, I held three internships - two of which were in education and the arts.
