A tutor with tons of experience!!!

I enjoy using a hands-on approach when it suits the needs of my students. I enjoy playing games, showing short learning videos, singing songs, scaffolding strategies with my students.
I have been teaching students for the past twelve years. I taught in the field of Special Education with students in grades 1-5 for eight years. I received my Masters Degree in reading and ESL and now I teach ESL to students in 1st and 2nd grades. Certified Teacher Looking To Help Others As A Tutor

I prefer to have materials prepared prior to any tutoring session so communication ahead of time will be essential. If I have an idea of what is expected of me then I am able to help modify the session to fit the learner. I like to use both direct teach as well as discussion to help guide the tutoring session.
I have a wide variety of educational experience and have recently crossed over into the realm of education as a Special Education/At-Risk teacher with the Edgerton School District. My current position has me utilizing differentiated instruction and modification techniques with nearly 50 students throughout the day which will enhance my ability to tutor others who need help. For two years I was involved with the Big Brother program where I worked with an autistic student. I’m currently employed at US Bank where I work as a mutual fund analyst. A Little Bit About Me...

At the end of my undergraduate work at UW-Oshkosh, I was asked to intern for the Baraboo School District in place of student teaching . Working with fourth graders was the beginning of my life as an educator. After five years of teaching, I changed grade levels and taught fifth grade for four years. During this time, I had the opportunity to work with The Everyday Math Program, inquiry based learning, and 6-Trait Writing. I specialized in teaching Science and Social Studies when I was teaching fifth grade along with the Reading, Language, Spelling subjects. My passion for teaching started in elementary school. As a student who struggled I relied on tutors to help me through my education. I graded with high honors as an Elementary Education major. I have taught abroad two times, in Grenada and Europe. I have taught 4K in Oconomwoc and 5K in Milwaukee. I have 5 years experience working with Autistic children in metro Milwaukee and also 2 years experience tutoring children in reading and math.
