My tutoring began while I was studying at Montana State University. My Junior year I enrolled in a class that was based around community service and my role was tutoring middle school aged children. The tutoring was in a small group setting and was on any subject the children needed help in but mainly in reading comprehension. After college, I attended Via Lingua where I became certified to teach ESL. It was here that my tutor experience expanded. As I think of my life without teaching, I cannot imagine what else I would be doing. I believe that children learn in a variety of ways. Some through listening, some through reading or watching, and some through doing. My goal is to find the way that works for each child and use that method to help them on their way to reaching their full potential. I graduated from the University of Wyoming within 3 1/2 years and student taught in first grade. Since then, I have been teaching in several preschool programs and spent part of one year as a long term substitute for a Title 1 program.
