As a University of Buea graduate with a bachelor of sciences degree in Chemistry and Botany I have a sound knowlege in Sciences and Mathematics. I have been a paraeducator at Mongomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Maryland for over three years, during which I established sound relationships with students and staff based on mutual trust. I have an extra 51 credit hours of study in mathematics and sciences along with lab work, American English-during which I acquired extensive gramatical skills due to writing research and essay papers in a broad domain of study.
Teaching is a passion to me and I have a sense of accomplishment when I share or give back what I have been privilleged to acquire in my studies of sciences and math. I teach by example. A Little Bit About Me...

My one to one teaching style is tailored to adapt to the students learning style. However, my experience shows that keeping the student active during the learning process promotes a better learning. I create formulas, graphs, etc. and the Excel spreadsheet and ask the student to enter the data so that he/she can see how things change with different entries. This interactive process increased the student interest, kept them focused and helped them to hold the knowledge in many instances.
Most of my teaching experience is from one to one tutoring. I have tutored over 20 students and always received compliments regarding my reliability, punctuality, style and patience. I have tutored for students with ages raging from 14 to 25 years old and included algebra, geometry, calculus, physics, etc. I worked as an 8th grade math teacher for a Catho ... read more

I am a born teacher. I truly love teaching and seeing my students learn. My philosophy is that all students are capable of learning at any level but some need more attention and different perspectives in order to achieve their goals. In my years of teaching I have worked with all levels and abilities which I believe has allowed me to learn from my students and become a better teacher.
The past two years I have been teaching Freshman Composition at Florida Atlantic University. I was required to teach critical thinking skills, writing, grammar, and reading. Previously, I taught 10th grade English (regular and honors) at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, FL. Before teaching high school I was a middle school Language Arts teacher (7th and 8th grade). With both my jobs in Broward County, I was required to work with my students on reading, writing, and grammatical skills. Further ... read more

The Florida Writing Assessment was implemented in grades 4, 8, and 10 as required by a law passed by the 1990 legislature. Does your student need a tutor?
