I have been a paraeducator at Mongomery County Public Schools (MCPS) Maryland for over three years, during which I established sound relationships with students and staff based on mutual trust. A Little Bit About Me...

I am a born teacher. I truly love teaching and seeing my students learn. My philosophy is that all students are capable of learning at any level but some need more attention and different perspectives in order to achieve their goals. In my years of teaching I have worked with all levels and abilities which I believe has allowed me to learn from my students and become a better teacher.
The past two years I have been teaching Freshman Composition at Florida Atlantic University. I was required to teach critical thinking skills, writing, grammar, and reading. Previously, I taught 10th grade English (regular and honors) at Cypress Bay High School in Weston, FL. Before teaching high school I was a middle school Language Arts teacher (7th and 8th grade). Here is Some Good Information About Florida Writes Tutoring

The Florida Writing Assessment was implemented in grades 4, 8, and 10 as required by a law passed by the 1990 legislature. Does your student need a tutor? Beginning in 2010, each essay was scored by one rater. In previous years, two raters were used and the scores were averaged. Prior to 2010, a student could have received a half-point score, such as 4.5; whereas since 2010, no half-point scores are possible. Additionally, beginning in 2010, each student within the same grade level was required to write an essay using the same mode of writing (narrative, expository, or persuasive).
