I am an enthusiastic former high school Math teacher (now an Assistant Principal) available for private Math tutoring. The majority of my teaching experience is with Precalculus and Algebra II, but I have experience teaching/tutoring Algebra I, Geometry, Tech Math, Advanced Functions & Modeling, and Advanced Placement Statistics. Due to my experience in education, I truly value the time any student spends outside of school focused on academics. In the past few years I have spent most of my time tutoring math and GED. This has been done in both a private and classroom setting. I gained my first tutoring experience by explaining difficult concepts to classmates that were struggling. I have been a tutor on WyzAnt for about half a year now. I have tutored math and physics students both at the high school and college level. All of the students that I worked with rated my lessons positively. From my tutoring experience I have noticed that most students who have trouble understanding a difficult concept do so because they did not understand a more basic prerequisite concept, so I try to help students "fill in the gaps." When working with students, I work through a few problems with them, and then I have them do a few problems on their own to see if they understand. If I see that the student does not understand some prerequisite concepts required to solve the problems, I make sure to have them understand those concepts before continuing with the current problems.
