Hi! My name is Andrew Hoover and I started tutoring Mathematics/Science during my sophomore year in High School. Since then, I have continued to help others within my classes up until I reached community college. It was in 2008 that I became a certified tutor for Fresno City College, where I have been ever since. I tutor a wide range of subjects, from algebra to philosophy (Symbolic Logic) and even biology/chemistry. I have also held several workshops on various topics spanning study skills to subjects I have mentioned previously.

I like to break things down into baby steps. However, my teaching style will change according to how each student learns the easiest.
I am hoping to tutor students from k-8th grade because I know I have more than enough qualification to help them succeed. Plus, I have worked as a bible studies and piano teacher at my church with students in that range. I also have enough tutoring and academic experience to be able to tutor these students. I love seeing students become excited about learning and becoming self-directed learners. Oftentimes, this means that the student takes the lead and I am there mainly to provide encouragement and structure. I try to provide a safe environment for learning.
