A Little Bit About Me...

I taught them and their friends over the years. I taught sunday school children. I am very much driven to achieve a high level of excellence in education. I have a BA in accounting with a minor in math. I have learned extensive grammatical skills due to writing research papers in many areas of study.
I like to get the kids invovled. We, of course, cover the required instruction but I like to have fun. It is important the kids think they have a say so. I love teaching and working with kids. I feel that I can relate to children because I am also a child at heart. I believe in constant verbal quizzing and repitition as a means to develop the child's ability to retain knowledge and call it forth at will. I have learned from past work experiences that all people learn differently be it either visual, kinetic (hands-on), or verbal (by listening). By learning the child's learning type you can tell which method appeals to them and can create a learning environment to encourage their growth at a faster rate. I also have a history in the theatrical arts and vocal music performance which can assist in grasping the child's attention during those times of relaxed focus. Lastly, I feel that positive encouragment is key to building confidence and trust in those students with lowered self esteem.
