I like children to get up and move and learn. All students learn differently and it is up to me to learn what it is and then use that to help them learn.
All through college I Tutored children at-risk and/or having a disability. I determined individual needs and apply a variety of methods to help children learn. As a first grade teaching after school I tutor first grader with reading and math. I like children to learn in a fun way. Students need to get up and learn. Worksheets are not something that I like to do when tutoring. Children sit in a desk all day. They do not want to then go and tutor and sit some more. I like to get the kids up and learning.

Leading innovation for education.

Before moving to Tucson, I found myself helping other students, sometimes elementary and sometimes high school or junior high. It became clear to them that most of my peers didn't understanding the lectures or in class notes that were provided. In fact, most of the examples never matched the tests that were given. I broke down the lessons into sub-divisions that students of all ages could understand.
Education is a viable tool for the kids in this generation. Technology also plays a role in the learning environment. In my experience, I find often times that it isn't enough for a child to read material and have a clear understanding. Visual concepts as well as real life examples makes all the difference between learning the subject and failing to understand the general concepts behind the subject itself.

I became interested in tutoring and teaching as an undergraduate. I began as a basic chemistry tutor, but quickly worked my way up to a lead tutor position. I then took on the responsibility of being a T.A. in both the chemistry lecture class as well as lab. After graduating college, my career led me on a path of training teachers, developing curriculum for schools and teachers, and finally into the position I am now, as a K-5 Technology Instructor. I attended Northern Arizona University, whereupon I fell in love with sociology. My Experience: In 1964, I graduated from Columbia College, in Geology. Subsequently, I worked in oil well drilling in Israel, and on a dam project in New Jersey. After earning an MA in Art Education, at Brooklyn College in 1975, I helped found the Waltham Mass. Artists Association, where I created beautiful enamels, and mentored several child students. One of my favorite projects, with friends, was facilitating the creation, exchange, and display of peace and environmental posters, by kids (and adult artists) in the USA and around the world.
