Anton G - Brooklyn, NY 11221 (34.2 mi) - Percussion Tutor - $49.00/hr.
My collegiate experience at Howard University has provided me with the opportunity to work in an environment, which involves utilizing leadership skills while working with others effectively to solve a given problem. During my collegiate career, I was fortunate to be involved with two tutoring programs. The students I tutored were predominantly foster children with learning disabilities. I was able to develop a keen interest and appreciation for community development through the continual support and education of students in the area. My strongest tutoring subjects are Basic Math, Algebra, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and elementary Reading, Reading Comprehension, and Writing. Thomas B - Massapequa, NY 11758 (46.8 mi) - Percussion Tutor - $52.50/hr.
I have tutored Music Theory, Aural Skills, and Music History for two and a half years at Adelphi University. My G.P.A. in Music Theory was a 3.4 and my G.P.A. for Aural Skills was a 4.0. I was recommended by the former Department Chair-Person to tutor a student with special needs. I have also taught lessons primarily for trumpet, but also for tuba, trombone, euphonium, baritone, and French horn. My teaching style could be described as fun, supportive, caring, and disciplined. By disciplined I don't mean tough, hard, or mean. Students are assigned work that they are expected to complete, although it won't be too time consuming. All work is intended to improve the student's abilities in the field that I will be tutoring them. Improvement is encouraged and positively reinforced.
