Experience Summary
My collegiate experience at Howard University has provided me with the opportunity to work in an environment, which involves utilizing leadership skills while working with others effectively to solve a given problem. During my collegiate career, I was fortunate to be involved with two tutoring programs. The students I tutored were predominantly foster children with learning disabilities. I was able to develop a keen interest and appreciation for community development through the continual support and education of students in the area. My strongest tutoring subjects are Basic Math, Algebra, Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, and elementary Reading, Reading Comprehension, and Writing.
Teaching Style
I believe tutoring students is not only an educational experience, but it is also a mentoring experience in which the student is influenced by the tutors leadership, patience, and devotion to his/her needs. I tutor students using a fun method of repetition through games and skill tests. I believe the student can sense my enthusiasm to teach, which ignites the student's enthusiasm to learn. I am fully capable of tutoring students from 1st graders to seniors in high school, college students, and adults.
