I have been learning everyday of my life, because there is always something new to learn. Life teaches many lessons but what I have come to learn is that education is very valuable. I want to give back to the community by helping others learn of all opportunities that a good education can bring them. I continue to educate myself by attending workshops, seminars and many life learning classes. In high school, I tutored my fellow students in various math courses. I've also been a Teacher’s Assistant for a statistics Professor where my duties consisted of running review sessions for the class before quizzes and exams along with grading homework and exams. I have completed four statistics courses dealing with different areas of statistics. I also have experience in one-on-one tutoring. Accounting is important to understand as it could help the individual out in their personal finances as well. When training employees, my teaching style has always been to learn by doing. I believe that people do best in learning a new task when one explains the task before doing, then shows how to do the task while explaining, and then asks the trainee to do the task with guidance. The same goes for teaching an academic subject - explain how it is done, show a couple of examples while explaining, and then ask them to try with guidance. If this method of teaching is not working for a particular student, I will adapt my teaching to fit his/her needs. I believe that every person has the ability to learn any subject; one just needs to find the method in order to keep them interested and absorbing information.
