I look at each student as an individual. I think it is important to determine which teaching style works for that person. I would use this information to choose the best method for each student. I think it is important to make learning fun at every age. Education should not be a chore but something to embrace. It would be one of my goals to limit fears or mental blocks that a student may have because they think they can't do it. I would focus on each students potential for success. I have worked with children age 0 to 17 over the years. I tutored my daughters friends when she was in High School in History and some English especially literacy. My primary experience is with preschoolers but I have also been a day camp counselor for 3rd graders, a Girl scout Cadette leader and volunteered at the teen center.

Since I have worked students with a wide variety of learning issues; I feel that I am well prepared to assess and deliver educational materials and instruction to any student. I understand that each student has his learning style and prefers specific modalities such as: games & puzzles, logical sequential, the arts, naturalistic, etc. Although those would not be the only modalities I would use to educate my students, I feel that I must acknowledge this and respond with a portion of the lessons directed at personal interest. I begin teaching students after assessing their needs and experiences. My students are active learners as I instruct with games, music, and art. Students are engaged because the material I use relates to their level of development and life experiences. When students are engaged learning is enjoyable. Positive behavior supports include appropriate praise for specific tasks and affirmation for accomplishments.
