A Little Bit About Me...

I enjoy teaching children, students of all ages and those willing to learn. As a high school student, I was involved in inner city teaching and I helped hartford students in their studies after their school. I appreciate higher education and I truly understand what it takes to teach as I myself teach my own children with their homework from their own schools after they come home. I earned the Barbara Allen Woods Award for German Excellence at the University of Rhode Island.
I taught school for four (4) years to ages kindergarten - seventh grade. I also tutored inner city children ages 5-12 for two (2) years. I teach to a mastery learning approach appropriate for language instruction. I present the material first in accordance with the text presentation, and then drill and quiz to ascertain the level of comprehension over the next several days. I ask all students to answer sample questions, and I am looking to see who does not understand what, and why. When deficiencies are discovered, I represent material in as many different ways as are ultimately needed to ensure comprehension and success.
